“Went through a hot topic phase and an anime phase simultaneously as a young teen” is a permanent personality trait. That shit follows you. You can never fully recover from that kind of past. You are cursed to always carry the remnants of that fashion and those interests. You can always tell in a room who went through that and who is still recovering. Someone starts playing “I can’t decide” by the scissor sisters on their phone and you immediately lock eyes with the nearest person wearing a mostly-black outfit that is kinda alternative but kinda not and you share a knowing Look of solidarity and eternal suffering
