Horror Short Films

Some of these short films may contain material that may be sensitive to some people. Watch at your own descretion.

Here we go, in no particular order.

1- EXIT
Based on the short story by Harry Farjeon, this short film written/directed by William Zimbler is about a man who demonstrates a very unsettling “trick.” It stars Julian Glover (“Game of Thrones”, “The Empire Strikes Back”).

2- Playing with the Devil
A short horror film based on the Japanese ritual of Hitori Kakurenbo or “One Man Tag” Terror ensues as the three sisters find out why they shouldn’t conduct such rituals

3- No Through Road
Based on the Clifton Bunny Man urban legend, this found footage style short is about four 17 year old boys were found dead in their car at an abandoned farm, 10 miles from their hometown. This video contains the unedited footage from the camera belonging to one of the boys, also found in the car.

4-Lights Out
David Sandberg won “Best Director” for the Who’s There film challenge for this unsettling 3 minute short. I suggest watching with your lights turned off.

5-

The 3:07 Project
The Conjuring’s production team put on a one-minute horror film fest called The 3:07 Project, so named in honor of the “devil’s hour,” when the movie’s most notable demon action happens. Vice and The Conjuring’s team invited four directors to make a 60-second film inspired by the “devil’s hour.” The video linked about is what the end result was.

6- 2 AM: The Smiling Man
This film is based off of a story on the subreddit Let’s Not Meet. A man takes a late night stroll and encounters an unsettling stranger. The video and story both do a great job of taking something as comforting as a smile and turning it into something sinister.

7- Mama

The short film that inspired Guillermo del Toro’s horror movie of the same name.

8- Alma
This animated short is about a little girl and a creepy doll shop. One with a great ending.

9- Maniac
A film crew follows two serial killers documenting their exploits. Directed by Shia LaBeouf and starring Scott Mescudi and Chris Palko.

10- There’s A Man in the Woods
Another animated short film. This one is about a teacher who deals with a boy spreading false rumors around school. Oh, and it all rhymes.

Feel free to ad onto the list!!!

This is actually really funny if you think about it. I mean, there was totally some sort of ghost or demon about to kill her but then that sheet blew straight into its face and it was so embarrassed that it decided to disappear.

Tremble, mortal, for I am Zerendikos, and I will drag your howling soul to—

*flump*

The following audio was recorded in a house in Philadelphia. The home owner complained of creepy noises coming from the basement at night

A digital recorder was placed in the basement to record any noises. After 3 days of nothing, they finally found this.

They claim to have not altered it in any way.

It sounds non human and almost animal like. But not like a raccoon found in your backyard, something far more sinister.

I think I should just put in here, that sightings of demons have always been reported to be a half humanoid/animal like creatures.

Definitly sent chills down my spine.

Original video

Audio post for the creepy sounds heard in outer space

This is fucking insane… I don’t expect you guys to believe me and I don’t know if this is real or not but when I would hear “voices” and shit, they sounded like this. Fuck.

So most comments of my post are something like this:

and then I see your comment and I’m absolutely terrified for you because the home owners could’ve just moved out, but for you sounds as scary as this are coming from your own mind

how do you escape that?

just when I thought this post couldn’t get any scarier, I received this message

I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A RICK ROLL BUT IT WASNT IM AFRAID

IT IS LIKE MIDNIGHT OH MY GOD I SO DID NOT NEED THIS

2 seconds in I was like FUCK NO I NEED TO SLEEP SOME TIME TONIGHT NOT DOING THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW

I received so many messages to make this! And so I finally did. I’m only putting the freakiest of all the stories.

STORIES THAT RECEIVED THE MOST INTENSE REACTIONS

Here are stories I’ve posted. I get them mostly from reddit no sleep (not every story here is from there however). They’ve received intense reactions from tumblr and reddit users alike. Some of them maybe long but trust me every word is worth it.

Betsy the Doll: most popular creepy story I’ve post, I’ve received the most insane reactions from you guys about this story

Annie96 is typing: an interactive chat story, nothing will pop out at you but the screen shakes a bit. the ending creepy a lot of people out.

My father’s long, long legs: another interactive spooky story

I found a girl I knew in a porno: extremely sickening, going to put a huge trigger warning here for the horrifying NSFW concepts

Dr.Ramsey stalker story: some people have twisted minds, and what makes this even more horrifying is how the user who posted this claimed these are real life events

Autopilot: voted the most popular no sleep reddit story

630-296-7536: what’s horrifying about this is how when you call the number you hear the exact same terrifying message as said in the story. It honestly works.

Something off in my basement: a story written by horror writer Cliff Barlow. It’s both upsetting and terrifying.

String Theory: this one really makes you think

The story of her holding an orange: while the creepiness isn’t apparent at first to some, many found it psychologically twisting

The girl in the log: tumblr users really liked this story, while it is haunting it has a sweet ending

The shadow web: what’s really freaky about this is that it based on the real concept of something called the deep web

True Schizophrenia Story: a terrifying look into someone’s real hallucinations

Grandpa’s 2nd Voice: what makes it haunting is how there are true cases of this story

Lunch: don’t read this while eating is all I can tell you

Why I didn’t shower for 21 years: beautifully written and you probably won’t want to be alone in a bathroom after this

Conversation over skype: when I first read this one I got shivers down my spine, talk about a twist

World’s Best Psychologist: this really messes with your minds and leaves you more questions than answers

The Creature: it knows. it knows everything.

5 of the Creepiest Songs You’ll Hear Today

  1. I’ve Plummed This Whole Neighborhood by: Nurse With Wound- The song opens with a series of screams and moans, occasionally overlapped by a muffled female voice. Just when you think it’ll end, it carries on for nearly five and a half minutes.
  2. Rattlers Echo by: Hair Police– What starts off sounding like a factory warning bell  gradually picks up the sounds of something similar to radio static, computer-like noises, and screams of anguish. (Skip to 5:00 on the video for the screaming to start; the first five minutes are just the bell and static sounds.)
  3. Coward by: Swans– The singer’s voice is just plain ghastly and slightly haunting. There’s really no other way to describe it. I’d say it’s relaxing, but the heavy background music tends to ruin that.
  4. Faaip De Oiad by: Tool– It sounds like there’s a lot going on in this song, between the staticy, electronic noises and the extremely frantic phone call of a man rambling about Area 51.
  5. Slug Bait by: Throbbing Gristle– Possibly the most disturbing, graphic, and absolutely horrifying song I have ever heard. The first-person account of an unspeakable crime. If this doesn’t make the hairs on your neck stand up, then I’m not sure what will.
